GlobalTranz Enterprises, Inc., a leading third-party logistics solutions provider offering award-winning technology, people-powered customer service, and extensive multimodal carrier relationships, today announced that it has further expanded its use of Robotic Process Automation to create new operational efficiencies and data insights for its shipper customers, freight agents and carrier partners.

Since its inception in 2003, GlobalTranz has driven market leading technology innovations that minimize required manual involvement in the execution and management of freight movement while providing optimal shipment visibility. The efficiencies created by these innovations have helped GlobalTranz’s customers, carriers and freight agents maximize their competitive and operative advantages.

GlobalTranz’s expanded deployment of RPA adds to this innovation by further reducing dependencies on manual efforts required to deal with the nuisances of logistics and transportation while concurrently providing actionable data insights that facilitate handling of dynamic and demanding supply chains, distribution and final mile management.

“GlobalTranz is expanding on its rich history of technology advancement by leveraging digital tools such as RPA to more quickly respond to evolving customer needs by providing new insights and solutions to operational challenges,” said Renee Krug, CEO of GlobalTranz. “We are excited that our advanced technology solutions are aiding our customers and partners navigate challenges and strengthen their businesses for the future.”

“The demand for deep insights into real-time supply chain visibility has reached a new level because the coronavirus crisis exposed vulnerabilities in highly complex global supply chains,” said Russ Felker, Chief Technology Officer of GlobalTranz. “We have enabled shippers to gain greater visibility to freight movements and thus respond more quickly to risks throughout all stages of the supply chain.”

Using RPA, GlobalTranz has improved its up-to-the-minute information and insights on rates. “Rather than requiring customers to go to a platform to get information and insights, we use RPA to proactively provide data and insights they need for their unique supply chains,” said Felker. “RPA allows us to use larger data sets to surface trends in supply chains that help  robust contingency planning.”

“The changing dynamics in the economy in 2020 has placed stress on the supply chains of many organizations. GlobalTranz has continued to sign new business throughout the pandemic, including a number of strategic managed transportation deals, as shippers seek strategic partnerships and enhanced supply chain resiliency. Leveraging RPA to enhance our internally developed systems enables GlobalTranz to scale our growth while delivering superior customer service,” said Krug.

Blue Yonder and Uber Freight announced a partnership designed to help businesses build efficient and transparent global supply chains at a crucial time.

Digital transformation initiatives have accelerated over the last few months, as enterprises that ship goods embrace flexible operations to keep up with shifting demand. Quickly recovering from supply shortages and creating a resilient business for the long term requires a well-managed, digitized supply chain, including freight transportation.

As volatility increases across freight transportation markets, Blue Yonder and Uber Freight are working together to meet businesses’ varied logistics needs, creating new ways to ensure shippers can instantly tap into real-time services and a reliable capacity network, within the tools they already use.

Uber Freight will integrate directly within the Blue Yonder LuminateTM Platform to power the dynamic pricing discovery solution to provide instant quoting of real-time market-based prices and instant booking capabilities up to two weeks in advance of loads.

“Uber Freight’s partnership with Blue Yonder will provide businesses the innovative tools they need to implement digital transformation in their freight process, enabling end-to-end visibility from planning to execution,” said Laurent Hautefeuille, Head of Business Development at Uber Freight. “Together, we’re making our tech-forward approach to freight – from real-time pricing to instant capacity – available to more businesses looking for more foresight and control of their operations in today’s dynamic market.”

Blue Yonder’s Luminate Platform is powered by Microsoft Azure and combines rich internal and external data from across a customer’s digital supply chain assets to allow for smarter, more actionable artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)-based business decisions.

Using an API, the dynamic pricing discovery solution will enable businesses who use the Blue Yonder transportation management solution to tap into automated execution, dynamic routing guides, and Uber Freight’s capacity network of over 50,000 freight carriers in the U.S. and Europe.

“At Blue Yonder we want to empower companies with real-time data to make informed, intelligent, profitable decisions, ultimately accelerating global business growth and we know Uber Freight is aligned with this mission,” said Terry Norton, Vice President, 3PL & Transportation at Blue Yonder. “We’re thrilled to amplify our offering with their freight network density and unique real-time pricing to give our customers an edge in this challenging market.”

CargoDocs DocEx is a digital solution for banks and corporates enabling the secure electronic signing, distribution/transfer and management of original electronic documents – including title documents such as Bills of Lading and Warehouse Warrants – through the supply chain.

Finacle Trade Connect is a blockchain-based application developed specifically to address and simplify the trade finance process requirements for banks, digitizing trade finance business processes including validation of ownership, certification of documents and payments, while working on a distributed, trusted and shared network.

The joint solution will focus on trade finance transactions including Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Guarantees and more, allowing banks and their corporate customers to access all data (and documents) under any given financing instrument – consolidated within the Finacle Trade Connect solution – providing a single integrated solution with open, connected and non-siloed data.
